The couple’s lives are turned upside down when their daughter is cast opposite the controversial lead star. DA'S Office states: Ep. 26 – ACOLYTE DISASTER! Could this be the end of Disney Star Wars? (2024) The first half of the film is more of a character study, about Annette, a deeply unhappy and lonely housewife who soon discovers that her husband, Ben, is having an affair with Alicia, a famous actress. The second half of the film is a thriller where the pace starts to pick up and the wheels start turning in Annette’s head. The film is a true slow burn: cold and frigid at first, then hot and bubbly, then explosive in its final act. It is fascinating, fascinating and suspenseful throughout. It is anchored by the wonderful performance of Daisy Ridley. She is a real find. Her quiet moments of angry outbursts are painful. There is an iconic scene where we see her momentarily pushed and smashing a mirror, symbolizing their broken marriage. Shazad Latif is good here too. There are some general aspects of the film. The trailer is quite deceiving. It can be drawn out and quite tiring at times. The ending may be cathartic and rewarding for some viewers, but neutral for others. Hiba Ahmed is very good as the daughter Matilda, although the performances of the children in the film are often not very good. She felt more like a prop than a character. And Matilda Lutz, although really pretty and charming and believable as a movie star in the context of the movie, is pretty good. Perhaps because Lutz was Italian, many of her lines were awkward or tacky. If you like thrillers with strong acting, especially those involving female angst, sensuality and infidelity, this will be good for you.
